What do I mean by the swell not making it up the channel ?

Channel wave bouy peaked last night at 9ft but there was zero swell at Greenwhich lightship the next wave bouy along in the channel so ground swell seems to be sitting in the neck of the channel.

No wave at Highcliffe which is a better indicator than Bournemouth

Surfing at K Bay is about faith as you never know what you will find there could well be a wave Saturday but I am yet to be convinced

This has all come about as the last mat meet in Dorset was called off in near perfect conditions

Definitely not going to make it now - wifey is working all day (and I'll be working harder looking after 3 little ones).

Have a great time, I'll be along to the next one no doubt.

fingers (legs, everything else) crossed conditions are right enough...

Picked up 3 bellyboards from Gavin at Traditional Surfing today, that was kind.
Bodysurfed Praa this morning,10-12" waves(20" faces). Then went to Porthmeor.North Coast all along was about chesthigh, crumbly dumpers.
    I'm treating this weekend as a trip,not a potential session!A Flatmeet,as it were!
Not bringing any extra mats as mine won't be big enough for you bigguns!Anyone got a UDT?!
Not missing much here for weekend, either!Onshore, crappy swell, nice and warm though!

I'm off for a nose at the Cornish side of the Sound. See what's getting in at the Western end of the Whitsand stretch.

Just surfed Tregantle. Chest high and pretty weak but there were waves Light winds with no gusts.

Can you Southerners decide what's-what and post a Google map here?

    Cheers

Going to be a 50/50 day, swell here at the mo but big tides tomorrow.

I'm happy to green light it but understand if its to risky for most.

Suggest meeting at the bakers arms pub postcode bh16 6jf right off the A35, say 8.15? Big high tide at 9 and low is at 1.45.

Going to watch the rally and I'll be back in a few hours. Cheers Joe

Unfortunately not going to make it as the 16 hour return drive seems like a bit of a risk....
Enjoy, hopefully will meet some of you guys next time I pass back through the UK.
